If life does not seem to be working for you - you are at a breaking point - just out of jail - tired of living in addiction - need a place to belong - ready for a life change, WE ARE READY FOR YOU! Following the New Testament mandate to "Share each others burdens..." (Galatians 6:2 NLT)
LifeWorks is run by Executive Director Ricki Lynn Mehaffey, as well as a number of volunteers. The Board of
Directors guides the way with God's help.
We believe in the Trinity; God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and we believe the Bible as the Word of God. Salvation comes through grace by believing in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, our Savior and Lord. Once saved, the Holy Spirit indwells, thereby instructing, guiding, and empowering the individual to follow the mandate of Jesus Christ in daily living.

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18 KJV)
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV)
Powerful things happen when women help women in a Christ centered environment. So many of us have been deeply wounded by our past, but we do not have to let our past define our present or direct our future. We were created in the image of God, with value and worth. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, with gifts, talents, and purpose. What a joy it has been to spend time at LifeWorks with such awesome women hungry for more of Jesus. As believers, the staff, volunteers, and mentors have a heart to see people living and working for the glory of God. Dignity is restored, character is built, and friendships begin. Women come together to receive love and support. We learn about what the Bible says about forgiveness.
Let me tell you about the Jobs for Life program offered at LifeWorks. This Bible based program provides discipleship for all women interested in developing Christ centered relationships as they discover God’s gift of work and experience life in Christ. This is a special time for staff, instructors, volunteers, and class participants to learn from one another as we grow in the knowledge or our Savior. We pray, seek, study, sometimes cry, and overcome together. I believe God uses our suffering to draw us closer as we gain strength from Him – we are weak but He is strong.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13 KJV)
We strongly encourage all women entering LifeWorks to develop a fervent prayer life, to saturate themselves in the Word of God, and become involved in a Bible believing church.
Jobs for Life provides job readiness and support to help women to be successful at work and life. Women can come to a safe and encouraging environment to form meaningful relationships and learn Biblical principles, while acquiring practical job readiness skills. The training uses the Bible by providing examples of people from the Bible who have been transformed and have overcome barriers that led to victory.
The women come together in an informal setting to learn about and discuss the following topics:
Ø Understand God’s design for work as well as the unique skills and abilities that have been given.
Ø Understand the importance of Godly character and integrity in the workplace.
Ø Create a realistic and achievable vocational plan.
Ø Learn basic interviewing tips and how to reply to targeted interviewing questions.
Ø Learn effective communication skills to achieve success on the job.
Ø Communicate their “Tell me about yourself” or “Elevator Speech” – 60 second commercial.
Ø Develop effective job search skills.
Ø Create a clear, concise, error free résumé – Qualifications Profile, Work Experience & Accomplishments, Education & Professional Development, Certifications & Licenses, and Community Involvement.
Ø Become familiar with community resources.
Ø Learn about healthy living (nutrition, exercise, developing interests), time management, computer skills, money matters (becoming good stewards financially), customer service, and most importantly developing character pleasing to God.
Each woman will graduate from Jobs for Life knowing that God loves her – that she has gifts – that she has a special calling. At LifeWorks, we are to walk with her as she discovers that calling in a career, job, or volunteer service. Wherever her calling takes her that should and can become her ministry.
“36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, ‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’ ” (Matthew 22:36-40 KJV)
